You simply want to be a world-class expert in your stuff because nobody can do what you do. Nobody can teach what you teach. Nobody can deliver what you deliver because of your amazing skills, experience, and expertise.

 

Here’s how a book changed my life

 

Before I wrote the book, I was invited to teach a two-day training at Stanford University about the Influence with a Heart® Method. The audience was 126 seven-figure-earning global business leaders.

I knew I needed to make an extra good impression, so I promised the event planner I would give each person a free, autographed copy of my new book.

 

BUT, I HADN’T WRITTEN THE BOOK YET!

 

And there were only 3.5 weeks available to do the writing (since I still needed to get it produced, printed, shipped, and autographed).

  • So I wrote…
  • And wrote…
  • And wrote!

 

Then, good news! I got it done and arrived at the event with signed copies in hand!

 

New business came my way almost immediately. I was invited to speak at their company headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Two days later, he asked me to do a second talk (the next day) to a Chinese-speaking audience through a translator!

 

Then I posted my book cover on LinkedIn (before the book was finished)…

 

As a result of seeing the cover (of the unfinished book), someone reached out to me (on LinkedIn).

This turns into discussions which becomes me—confirming my first six-figure contract—with a Fortune 100 company! They wanted me to help create a mindfulness and empathy video game (with MIT) for more than 20,000 customer experience employees around the world.

 

RESULTS: 10 months of consulting for (almost) double six figures! So I made 7X more money than I did the year before

 

You can do this too! And the cool thing is that you can start making a bigger impact and attracting more clients even before your book is published. (Even before your book is written, for that matter.) And that’s pretty cool.

 

Here are the four keys that you need:

 

  1. The first key is to choose a book-length ahead of time. So rather than writing into the abyss—and not knowing when you will finish, not knowing what to write, and when to stop—you choose ahead of time.
  2. The second key is to write as little as possible. Now that might sound funny because you’re writing a book. But the magic here is to dictate (for at least some of your book). Because you don’t waste time thinking, editing, and judging yourself or your words. Just be the expert you are. And dictating means that you’re authentic voice will be coming through. Not to mention that you can dictate 4-5% of a 25,000-word book in just seven minutes!
  3. The third key is to start as soon as possible. But don’t rush. (I used to be a hospice volunteer and often got that smart, stark gift and  reminder that life is uncertain. There’s no guarantee that we will make it until tomorrow, or even until our next breath.
  4. The fourth (and foundation) is to use the book as a reason to have conversations with your ideal clients (so you can get more clients and partners, as you’re writing it, even before you’re published).

 

So now is the time to make it happen!

 

And I invite you to say yes to yourself. Because when you say yes, the whole universe begins to conspire to help you make your dreams into reality. Whether that’s spiritual, quantum physics, your reticular activation system, sweat equity—or all four—it works.
